This is a common problem with skid steer loaders.
all the strain on the wheel nuts can cause tremendous problems -
Especially when the bolts are not tightened in the first place.
A good and regular check of the wheel nuts can save a lot of money.
this type of damage usually occurs after a tire repair - wheel nut are not torqued up the manufacturers specification.
All four rims are damaged on this machine.
Some of the studs are sheared off - others have worn the rim beyond repair.
Another wheel - another disaster.
Doing well here - 4 out of 6 wheel nuts - still on the safe side!
Removed the rim to drive out the broken and damaged studs.
After removing the tires we machined new center discs and welded them into place.
There after we replaced the tires and pumped them to the correct pressures.
New studs and wheel nut - YES we did use the torque wrench.
