We were called out to this manufacturing plant to diagnose and repair this machine. It is a form rolling plant that works around the clock every day.
We soon discovered that the hydraulic gelatine was not dooing it's job because there was no oil pressure.
After stripping down the main pressure pump we found the problem. Cracked pump housing.
Of course there was no way we could match up a replacement pump, this one is from China and so is the rest of the 85m of machine. We found a replacement pump with the help of a very knowledgeable squire that had the same flow and pressure.
Back to the shop and down we turned the new couplings, one for the motor, one for the new pump.
A new bell housing also had to be fitted and mounting holes aligned.
Here the pump is fitted to the new bell housing.

In the above picture the rolls of steel wait for the next shift to start.
Below in the bottom right hand corner is the gelatine that cuts the rolled sheets to there exact length.
