Dorries Transmission Repair

Replace Electromagnetic G Clutch in Dorries Transmission.

Transmission arrives.

         Accompanied with detailed drawings.

G Clutch is housed in the lower right hand side of the transmission.

Disassembly starts with the output shaft drive gear.

Removal of the "keyed" coupling presented some challenges.
After fabricating a special tool and some heat we could move on.

The coupling cooperating and sliding off.

This is the G clutch that needs to be replaced.

Burnt out G clutch removed , notice the burn mark at 3 o'clock.

Testing the new G clutch before installation.

New G clutch assembly.

Dorries Transmission assembled and undergoing final inspection.

Ready for delivery.

Ford F250 Crane and Tailgate Loader Build-off.

A local Safe Transporting company needed a special purpose vehicle to lift and load heavy security safes.

They wanted a hydraulic crane and a tailgate loader all in one.

We  sold them the crane and they supplied the tailgate loader.

Fabrication began with a super strong sub-frame that would handle the heavy loads lifted by the crane and the taxing loads lifted by the tailgate loader.

Completed project.

Fabricating the crane sub-frame.

Front sub-frame

Pipe inserts to stop the steel tube from collapsing when tightened up to the chassis.

Front sub-frame with crane mounted.

The lower extended tube is for the mounting of the outriggers.

2.5 ton ATS hydraulic crane.

This side accommodates the battery box and the extension for the outrigger.

Battery in place.

We removed the tailgate loader from this truck to use on the F250.

Ready to fit to the F250.

Tailgate loader mounted to the F250

Completed and extended before the customer took delivery.

Tailgate loader fitted and extended.

The very handy owner completed the body work, and there you have it!
A beautiful crane and tailgate loader Ford F250.

Crane Truck - Fassi

This Fassi F80 hydraulic crane was delivered to our workshop. Our instructions were to fit it to a Mercedes 1517 truck on which it arrived. As can be seen in the photo's, the load tray had to be shortened, the sub-frame had to be redesigned and fabricated. The crane had to be mounted to truck and sub-frame, and all the hydraulics had to be plumed-up. This Mercedes is also a tilt-tray as can be seen in the last photo , this required a new pump and valve bank to be fitted. C.P.M. sourced all the parts and carried out all the work.

The Mercedes 1517 arrives with new Fassi F80 crane!

Fassi F80 chained to tray.

Mounted and job complete , the Fassi is folded up and ready for delivery.

A final inspection and test by Fassi Cranes rounds off the job.

Fully extended and ready for work!

CONCRETE PUMP REBUILD / REPAIR / AIRPLACO PG25

AIRPLACO PG25 CONCRETE PUMP REPAIR

On this fine machine we have to replace the relief valve or ball. As this ball wears out it no longer remains round, becomes smaller in diameter and them does not seal. As a  result  we have a great piece of equipment that only preforms at half it's capacity.

The pressure tube has been removed from the concrete basket.

At the end of the pressure tube is the valve assembly. notice the black sealing O ring and the first glimpse of the relief ball.

This is the concrete basket to which the pressure tube and relief valve are fitted. This machine has been well maintained as you can see, no old stale concrete anywhere.

Hear is a shot of the underside to which the pressure tube of cylinder is attached. Notice the recess for the rubber O ring.

The relief valve assembly now needs to be stripped down or split. This is done with great care, old concrete and time make it difficult to separate the two parts.

As they come apart notice how the concrete has seeped between the flanges. This slows the flow down and also wears out the ball valve.

Another angle.

There we have the flanges split apart, the old worn out ball valve and all the concrete that slows the machine down.
The ball valve is hold captive by this cage. the 4 pins in the top flange and the 2 in the valve pipe.

All this old concrete needs to be chipped away and the pipe must be made as clean as.

Here is a good shot of the old and new balls side by side. The new ball is going to make a great difference to the performance of this machine.

In it's new prison, the new ball in its new clean environment. Now we assemble the flanges and hook the valve assembly back up to the concrete pump.
Check  the operation and the job is done.

YANMAR Vio 40 TRACK DRIVE MOTOR REBUILD.

YANMAR VIO 40 excavator has bad oil leak on the track drive motor.
Closer inspection revealed that the seal between the drive hub and the mounting flange had given way.

A new seal kit was located complete with all the o rings and the large steel compression seals.

We start stripping the drive unit and remove the old worn compression seal with it's steel slip ring.

Notice the steel slip ring and the rubber o ring that seals and provides the constant pressure on the seal.

The new slip ring is at the bottom, the old one is on the top one.
Can you spot the contamination wear marks on the old slip ring?
Notice the machine ground finish to the new component.

The contamination between the drive unit and the drive hub slowly wears away the sealing face on the slip seal.
This drive hub was filled with hydraulic oil though, a sure sign that the motor drive seal had popped.
This caused the hydraulic oil to leak into the drive unit and pressurise it.
The leak seen below was most probably caused by over pressure.

in the bottom left corner is the drive motor seal that caused the leak into the drive unit.
Made from special nitrate this seal is best replaced with the genuine item, the after market parts do not last!

A view of the planetary gears inside the hub assembly.

All assembled and bench tested, the tracks replaced and away we go.
This repair requires a fair amount for technical skill, mostly a generous portion of patience , fitting the slip seal.
